SOAR YOUNG LEADERSHIP
PROGRAM 2018-2020
Be a leader in poverty alleviation with your own strength
• SOAR Young Leader Program is a youth talent training program jointly organized by Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Peking University and Xi'an Jiaotong University. Its purpose is to enable participants to develop their own social leadership skills, interpersonal communication and the enhancement of global perspectives.
• In the second part of the project, we need to complete a case study on "gentrification of Beijing" to provide a favorable background research experience for future poverty alleviation work in Cambodia. When we knew the project title, our group quickly found our common thread. Since I have many experience in basic information investigation of architectural design and archaeological field data collection, I use my personal advantage to assign project work, and let each team member use their strengths to complete the mid-term research. Even if there were serious mistakes in the mid-term review, and we almost re-write a new report for the problem of topic definition, we still had a hard time, resolved the definition differences and reorganized the logic chain, and completed the requirements comprehensively in a short period of time. Analyzing the whole process, we encountered many problems, but we have the same goals and the same values, we have no doubts, but promote the ability of the team to participate in the plan, so that every cooperation is smooth, and finally the desired results are obtained..
• In the study of urban gentrification, we see unique controversies related to civilization: while we believe that urban renewal is based on improved housing quality and more opportunities for education and work, health and Health is also better. But in Beijing's Jintaili residential area, the gentrification process driven by the transformation plan has caused many community problems and remaining residents. Due to the limited budget, the various needs of the former residents could not be met. These needs mainly include the need for food, employment, education, living space, religion and social exchange; the lack of industrial diversity is also the reason why the Kintaeri region has become a "victim".
• In terms of solutions, we believe that a stable and equal platform should be provided for local residents to submit their opinions, and the special needs of residents should be fully considered during the reconstruction process, so as to ease the tension between government plans and residents' interests.
